Well I learned something NEW (and kind of morbidly disturbing too…)
You see, since all my stomach surgeries this past summer, my stomach CONSTANTLY rumbles and grumbles and makes such LOUD and oft times embarrassing hunger pang noises (Shouts!) when I’m NOT even the slightest bit hungry. So I finally Googled for answers.
It’s that remnant lower stomach (The duodenum) they left inside, it’s totally sealed off and separated from the rest of my stomach, it gets NO FOOD anymore but it still complains about it apparently. It still gets blood supply, but the muscle itself will eventually atrophy.
When I had parts of the tummy re-routed and removed and generally ALTERED, they left that most lower part where it connects to my colon because it produces hormones and regulates B12. But it does not need food to do that, it’s better if that part of my body NEVER sees food since the WHOLE REASON for all the surgeries was the diabetes and the Duodenum is a BASTARD with sugar absorption so it will never see FOOD EVER AGAIN.
But apparently it will forever bitch about that little fact… something I never knew would happen. That really is something the surgeon should mention so people don’t freak out wondering WHY THE FUCK is my stomach talking ALL THE DAMN FREAKING TIME? So dear friends, when you hear my loud tummy talking to you, please don’t ask me if I’m hungry, I’m never freaking hungry. It has NOTHING to do with hunger at all, It’s just the "dead" part of my tummy talking from the grave so to speak.
Freaky huh?

First, PAIN.
OMG, I got the G-Tube and Picc Lines out today (they were in me since the End of August.) The pain started when she pulled (YANKED) the tube out of my stomach. Like popping a cork out of a champagne bottle. The Stomach and site spasmed like a MO-FO. And Throughout the day it has gotten steadily and progressively WORSE. The pain is radiating from the tube site, up my neck, down my arm and down my legs. I’ve taken 2 Dilaudid (4 hours apart) and NOTHING, NADA, not even touched the pain. It’s freaking excruciating. I have no idea if this is normal or not. But God I don’t want to go to the ER again, NO NO NO. I’m so done with Hospitals. *cries*
Anyone know how long I should let this pain go before I seek Medical Assistance? It’s really bad. I sat drawing all day just to try and divert my attention off my pain and into something productive. I sat practically 11 hours straight in my chair, it hurt so bad to move I didn’t want to.
But at least here’s the result. (Just one of these is from today. The colored one. The other was from a couple of days ago I just hadn’t posted it yet.
Oh and I also wrote fic too. I get productive when I don’t feel good.
First off Pic and FIC written BEFORE the Pain started:

Well, I’ve had the Surgery and it went very well, so well they let me go home a day early from the hospital.
Had Surgery 9:30-is Monday Morning and went home around 2PM Wednesday Afternoon.
But then I started feeling "not right" Beginning Thursday morning. It continued to get worse, the pain got worse and I was extremely nauseous. I am NOT to throw up for 6 weeks, it may tear fragile sutures inside so we ended up in the ER around 11:30PM Thursday Night.
They got in an IV and got me a shot of zofran really quickly to abate the nausea and then a shot of Dilaudid sent me to LA LA land free of pain for a while (Free from consciousness almost). They took some x-rays and a CT scan of my abdomen and nothing was showing up physically internally wrong so by now it’s about 7 AM Friday morning and they are moving me up to a room for my Surgeon to see me that afternoon.
Saw Dr. Shina around 3PM Friday, he checked the xrays and CT scan and physically looked at my wounds and then decided to do an Endoscopy on me on Saturday. No food, No water Nada… Nothing ZIP by mouth until then… It’s already been 24 hours since I’d eaten, it was going to be 24 hours more. *sigh* But Better safe than sorry.
Around 11:30 This morning (Saturday) I had the endoscopy and it turns out I had a case of Gastroenteritis on top of my brand new surgery and that the xrays and ct Scans showed I have several Gall Stones (Source of the PAIN and aggravated by the Gastroenteritis which was the source of all that nausea.)
So There you Have It.
I got released from the hospital this afternoon (Saturday) with meds and I’ll follow up with Dr. Shina on Tuesday I am still sore as HELL but on the road to mending thank goodness. Now to rest.

I hate having to resort to this and I have applied for all sorts of medical financing…. But I unfortunately need help.
I’m going to have to get GBP surgery (That’s Bariatric Bypass) because it has become medically necessary.
My Diet – Perfect I’m doing everything RIGHT and have been a long time
But for 14 years my weight does not BUDGE. It hasn’t moved more than 10 pounds up or down with the exception where I gained 40 pounds in three days back in October because of all the steroids and it has NOT come back down a single POUND in 6 months.
That 40 pounds has made everything worse by a long shot. It put me over into 35 BMI range, it has made my diabetes go BONKERS and I’m taking almost 500 units of insulin a DAY. (The heavier you are the more insulin you take, the more insulin you take the harder it is to lose weight and so very easy to gain it!) It’s a vicious circle. The extra weight made the Blood sugars too high, which made the Neuropathy get worse and spread and it has spread to my Kidneys.
If I don’t make a drastic change right now (and GBP surgery can almost negate Type II Diabetes OVERNIGHT) if I don’t have this surgery to get my diabetes down to where I can stop taking truckload of insulin, I’m looking at rapidly deteriorating and the threat of Kidney failure and Dialysis is not only there, but I’m at extremely high risk. Not to mention the possibility of losing my legs too eventually.
I’m terrified, the doctors are concerned, it’s beyond medically necessary for me now to have GBP surgery. The weight loss is a bonus, but the main reason is GBP surgery changes how your stomach processes nutrients and by not letting food into the Duodenum part (lower part) of the stomach and skips the traverse colon… this means sugar is not processed and allowed to be absorbed for an extended amount of time, which means less exposure to sugars, less insulin required, and gives your cells a change to relearn how to absorb insulin. This is why GBP is called a "cure" for Type II diabetes… it’s not really a cure of diabetes, just a cure for the worst symptoms of Diabetes. Insulin resistance and High Blood Glucose. This is why it is recommended for me, my diabetes is getting worse and worse. I’m getting more and more resistant to insulin.
This brings me to my problem… Affording this surgery, it’s going to cost around $26,000.00 give or take a few hundred dollars. (that’s all inclusive from Hospital to all the specialist fees involved.) I’ve managed to secure CARECREDIT (A medical revolving credit card for $5300.00), I’ve applied for an independent loan for financing, but you know banks lately, I’m terrified and I have to have $16,000.00 UP FRONT for the hospital and surgeon portion of the bill….
BECAUSE….
My Insurance, even if it’s medically necessary, does NOT cover ANY obesity or even morbid obesity treatments including but not limited to surgical procedures. All of it is excluded, even just plain old diet office visits with your PCP… Ya know, no wonder the country is getting fatter and fatter, people can’t even get a diet plan with their doctor or a nutritionist covered. Most people are NOT like me. I eat like a bird, my caloric intake is very, very low. I’m on a healthy diet for many, many years… my weight comes from insulin resistance and injections. And even my "obesity" ( BMI > 30) is NOT a covered benefit.
I have to have this surgery, I have to save my kidneys and my legs and it has to be drastic because the old fashioned methods I’ve been on for 14 years just do not work for me anymore.
If any one has advice where else to go (I’ve got medical revolving credit for $5300 already secured (Thank goodness I have excellent credit and even that gets you almost NOTHING in credit cards anymore….) and I’m waiting for my installment loan request to be processed by the bank. Any other help you know of, heard of, have a rich philanthropist uncle twice removed, anything… I could use the help.
Well I know the Trouble with the "donate" button I’m not a Charity and Paypal is purposefully blocking the link from the blogs… oookay. I didn’t know that… and why the links worked for me and NOBODY else.
By just sending a paypal payment to fablespinner-AT-gmail-DOT-com Sorry for the hassle.
Thanks Everyone <3 I hate to ask, every little bit helps. I also understand if you can’t do anything other than cross your fingers I get loan approval. No one has money or decent health coverage these days. Thank you just for reading.
